The New Vintage Orchestra breathes new life into music from the Great American Songbook playing Swing, Big Band, Jazz and Dixieland music.

Based in the Philadelphia, PA area, we provide musical entertainment in the Central/South New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern Delaware areas.

All of our bands are comprised of leading professional musicians from the Philadelphia area so you can be assured of the best quality music for your event. Big Band

Our Big Band is comprised of 13-17 pieces and often feature the fabulous vocal talent of Paula Johns and plays the swinging sounds of the Big Band era, performing compositions that people of all ages enjoy. These classic songs were made famous by Glenn Miller, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson as well arrangements by more contemporary arrangers such as Tom Kubis and Gordon Goodwin.

Our Big Band has been performing concerts, dances and weddings to crowds large and small in the New Jersey/Philadelphia/Delaware areas since the early 80’s. We have the skill and versatility to play for many different audiences – from the swing kids who love the fast dances like the jitterbug, the lindy, and the shag – to the polished ballroom dancers who love the vintage dance music made famous by the big bands.

Our music library consists of hundreds of arrangements from the Big Band era to todays Big Bands. We can provide the perfect blend of classic swing from the great song writers like Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Duke Ellington. We will work with you to make sure your favorite numbers from our repertoire are included when we play for your event.

Little Big Band

The Little Big Band play the swinging jazz sounds the worlds most loved standards, performing compositions that people of all ages enjoy.

The Little Big Band is comprised of 6-9 pieces and plays all the same great standards as the Big Band but the smaller band allows us to deliver the full density of jazz harmony and orchestral color and perform in venues where a normal big band is either too large or too costly. Don’t worry though about the smaller size of the Little Big Band, the music for the Little Big Band is written in such a way as to provide a big band sound. The Little Big Band utilizes a typical combination of one or two saxes, one trumpet, one trombone plus a rhythm section of piano, bass and drums and a female and/or male vocalist.

The Little Big Band can easily play both concert and danceable material depending on your needs.

Sinatra, Bublé & Friends

Pair the classic vocal stylings of Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Bobby Darren, Louie Prima and Dean Martin with either our Big Band or Little Big Band. Forget karaoke Sinatra, there is nothing like a live band providing the backing for all the great Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Bobby Darren, Louie Prima and Dean Martin songs

Jazz Quartet/Quintet

Add a touch of class and sophistication to your event with the sounds of authentic jazz. Relax to standards by Rodgers & Hart and Cole Porter and the classic jazz of Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and others. Spice-up your party with some up-tempo swing and Latin jazz.

The New Vintage Jazz Quartet/Quintet offers many options including 4 or 5 piece combos that can include trumpet/flugelhorn, saxophone, trombone, piano, bass, drums and female and/or male vocalist. As a swinging sextet, quintet, quartet, or subtle acoustic duo, we will provide the right soundtrack, from a large reception to an intimate dinner with friends. New Orleans Dixieland

New Orleans Jazz Music at its Best! The music of the New Vintage Dixieland Band (with trumpet, trombone, clarinet, piano, bass and drums) captures various styles of Dixieland from Old-Time New Orleans to the Roarin’ Twenties to World War II swing. Although artistry is foremost, the music varies from boisterous to humorous to mellow. The New Vintage Dixieland Band frequently perform for concerts, conventions and parties.

When the New Vintage Dixieland Band plays, the audience starts singing along, tapping toes, and clapping hands.
